Paskay starts informative workshops on the TULLPA+ improved cookstove project

There will be 12 workshops in the Junín region and 5 workshops in Cajamarca in the month of October.

As part of the project for the implementation of improved wood stoves Tullpa+, more conscious kitchens for our community, Paskay started in Paca, Junín, a series of informative workshops aimed at the beneficiaries and surrounding communities. There will be 12 working groups that will be installed in the provinces of Jauja and Chupaca.

The development of these workshops has the purpose of making visible the problems caused by the use of a traditional kitchen (wood stove) and, therefore, the smoke inside the homes, explain the importance of an improved kitchen and how its operation will reduce respiratory diseases and carbon footprint.

Likewise, the objective and main characteristics of the project will be announced, as well as listening to the population to achieve a better implementation of this project, which in its first stage will benefit 10,000 families.

In Junín, the workshops will be held from October 10 to 15 in the districts of Paca, Yauyos, Marco, Pomacancha, Molinos, Masma, Ataura, San Lorenzo, El Mantaro, Huamali, Paccha, Apata and Chupaca. In Cajamarca work will be done in Los Baños del Inca, Llanacora, Namora, Matara and Yonán.

The project coordinator, Luisa Espinoza Sánchez, highlighted the great importance of working on social and environmental aid projects with the population. “Paskay listens to his beneficiary. There are many people who do not trust the projects. They register them and then abandon them. We are here to work with them and make them understand that with an improved kitchen they could reduce up to 50% of their household expenses”, she pointed out.

More about the project

TULLPA+, more conscious kitchens for our community, is a project to implement environmentally friendly wood-fired kitchens, which seeks to improve the quality of life of families in rural areas of Peru.

By improving traditional kitchens, it reduces respiratory diseases and deforestation due to the use of firewood. In this way, we contribute to curbing the effects of climate change.
